B.U.I.L.D Initiatives

Overview

Contractors play a vital role in building infrastructure and creating jobs, forming the backbone of South Africa’s economy. Strengthening contractors’ capacity to deliver and maintain infrastructure, while operating sustainable and competitive enterprises, is a core priority of the cidb. The B.U.I.L.D Programme offers contractors a range of initiatives to support enterprise development and industry transformation. These include funded training and assessments to strengthen business and technical capabilities, as well as development opportunities that enable emerging contractors to participate in infrastructure projects through structured subcontracting.
These initiatives support the growth of capable contractors and help build a more sustainable and inclusive construction industry.

Construction Management Systems (CMS) training and implementation lead to SANS 1393 certification. The Standard is available to contractors in cidb Grades 5 to 8 General Building and Civil Engineering.

cidb Certificate in Construction Management (CCM) provides industry-ready skills for operational efficiency, competitiveness and business growth. It’s available to contractors, professionals, government officials and it carries 10 CPD points.
