Building Information Modelling (BIM) is changing how infrastructure is planned, procured, delivered and managed.
As part of its commitment to innovation and digital transformation in the construction industry, the cidb is leading implementation of South Africa’s National BIM Adoption Roadmap.
Through targeted interventions, industry collaboration and practical guidance, the cidb aims to strengthen project performance, improve transparency, support better decision-making and deliver better infrastructure outcomes across the built environment.
The cidb is now calling for nominations to the National BIM Steering Committee (NBSC) — the national forum that will guide BIM policy, standards and industry capacity.

Call for nominations to serve on the National BIM Steering Committee (NBSC)

The Construction Industry Development Board (cidb) is a public entity established in terms of the Construction Industry Development Board Act, 2000 (Act No. 38 of 2000). The cidb is mandated to promote the development, improvement and transformation of South Africa’s construction industry and is leading the implementation of the National Building Information Modelling (BIM) Adoption Strategy 2025–2030 to support the digital transformation of the built environment sector.
The cidb invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to be nominated for appointment to the National Building Information Modelling (BIM) Steering Committee (NBSC).
The NBSC is a national multi-stakeholder advisory and coordination forum established to support the implementation of the National BIM Adoption Strategy 2025–2030 and to advance the digital transformation of South Africa’s construction industry through the adoption of BIM and related information management practices.
The Committee will provide strategic guidance, promote collaboration across government, industry and academia, support the development of BIM policies and standards, strengthen industry skills and capacity, support implementation initiatives and pilot projects, monitor industry adoption, and promote innovation across the built environment sector.

Nominees should possess a recognised qualification in a built environment, engineering, construction, information management, digital technology or related discipline and have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
Appointments will be made with due regard to stakeholder representation, technical expertise, diversity, transformation and the overall balance of skills required by the Committee.
Term of appointment
Three (3) years
