Overview

This mandatory support must amount to at least 5% of the total contract value. Support provided must be based on the specific needs of the subcontractor to be relevant and meaningful.

The B.U.I.L.D Programme mandates clients, through Government Gazette 43726 of 18 September 2020 to include the Enterprise Development Standard as a condition of tender and contract award in all projects R20m and above in value.

The nature of support provided varies based on the specific development needs of the subcontractor. Among others, support can include skills training, business development, mentorship, systems improvement as examples.

The main contractor or larger joint venture partner in grade 7 or above, is responsible for providing support, whilst the client pays for the effort, as part of the conditions of contract with the main contractor.

cidb 12th Postgraduate Conference

The 12th cidb Postgraduate Conference will take place from 10 to 12 July 2022 at the International Convention Centre in East London, South Africa.
