cidb Online Services

The following registration and online services are digitally accessible to contractors:

  1. Online registration for Grade 1. This is an end-to-end application service that includes online payment of applicable registration fees. The contractor must already be registered on the National Treasury Central Database of Suppliers to access this service. View our video on YouTube to learn more about online Grade 1 application.
  2. Online application for annual updates. This is an end-to-end service that includes payment online.
  3. Contractors may also email applications for 3-year renewal of registration to any of the cidb provincial office near them.
  4. Change of company particulars

cidb Three Year Renewal

When submitting an application for 3-year renewal by email please attach the following required documents for grades 2 – 9:

  1. Completed and signed 3-year renewal application form
  2. Company registration documents
  3. Copy of identity documents of directors. Uncertified documents are accepted
  4. Copy of shareholder certificate(s). Uncertified documents are accepted
  5. Copy of electrical license (if you are applying for EB class of work)
  6. Proof of payment
  7. Proof of tax compliance
  8. Track record (not older than 5 years), letter of award, completion certificate and final payment certificate; and
  9. Latest financial statements.

You don’t need to certify identity documents and share certificates. 
Simply email your renewal application to the cidb provincial office near you.

Online Registration

Online registration for contractor grading service is available for:

  • A new Grade 1 application;
  • Adding a grade 1 to your grades;
  • Annual updates for all grades; and
  • Change of company particulars.

To use the online service, you will need to have the following on hand:

  • A Central Supplier Database (CSD) number;
  • An email address. This must be the same email address you used to register on the CSD;
  • A bank card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express).

Step-by-step guide on how to register:

  1. Complete the online registration following the prompts;
  2. The system will create an online account for you and send the login details to your email address;
  3. Sign in with the login details to continue;
  4. Enter the grade(s) that you are applying for;
  5. The total cost of your application will be displayed on the screen;
  6. Make a payment right here on the cidb website. Don’t leave the portal;
  7. Once payment has gone through your registration will be activated.

Use your credit to pay for cidb online registration.

Our online registration process now allows you to use money we owe you to pay when you apply. You could be applying for an additional grade 1 or renewing your grade.

Applying online using your credit to pay for registration

You can use your credit balance to pay for your application. Here is how:

  1. Log on to the cidb online registration right here on the cidb website;
  2. Complete your online registration following the prompts;
  3. The system will create an online account for you and  send the login details to your email address;
  4. Sign in with the login details to continue;
  5. Enter the grade(s) that you are applying for;
  6. The total cost of your application will be displayed on the screen;
  7. Your credit balance will be displayed on the screen;
  8. Click on: “Finalise Application”. The system will deduct the due payment from your credit;
  9. Your registration will be activated.

You can top up your credit if it is not sufficient to pay for registration

  1. Log on to the cidb online registration system via our website;
  2.  Complete your online registration following all the prompts;
  3. The system will create an online account for you and send the login details to your email address;
  4. Sign in with the login details to process your application;
  5. Enter the grades you are applying for;
  6. The total cost of your application will be displayed on the screen;
  7. Once you confirm your selection of works, the system will display the following payment information; “current balance”, “application amount due”, “amount payable now” and the only option will be “make payment”;
  8. When you proceed, the system will take you to the cidb online payment portal where you can make the outstanding payment;
  9. Once the payment is made, your application will be activated;
  10. Alternatively, if you are not comfortable making an online payment, you can
    abandon your application to go make a payment at the bank;
  11. Allow 2-3 days for the payment to reflect on the cidb system, then make another application;
  12. After confirming your application options, the system will prompt you to finalise the application.
  13. Your application will be activated.
