The cidb is statutory body established under the executive authority of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI) and enabled by th Construction Industry Development Board Act 38 of 2000 (cidb Act), from which it derives its mandate. the Construction Industry Development Board (cidb) is an Equal Opportunities Employer. 1. JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

DEPARTMENT: OFFICE OF THE COO

LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE

GRADE: D UPPER (R806 184 – R1 513 444)

REF: RD 02

Reports to:  Chief Operating Officer

Purpose: To proactively develop and support the delivery of cidb research strategy through the provision of expert, hands-on support to executives on construction industry trends and research agenda.

Key responsibilities: Knowledge management; research and development; new product development projects and innovation; risk management and financial management; overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence; collaborating and reviewing technical work of the industry.

Educational requirements: Relevant Master's degree in Economics /Construction related qualification or relevant qualification equivalent to NQF Level 9.

Experience: 8 to 10 years related experience in built environment, research and development discipline; knowledge of the Construction Industry norms and standards.


2. JOB TITLE: COMPANY SECRETARY

DEPARTMENT: OFFICE OF THE CEO

LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE

GRADE: D UPPER (R806 184 – R1 513 444)

REF: CMS01

Reports to: CEO/ Board Chairperson

Purpose: Provide guidance and support to the Board, its committee(s) and the Executive Management on corporate governance.

Key responsibilities: Ensure compliance with the Companies Act; Ensure Compliance with PFMA; cidb Act and King III; Manage performance against the code of conduct; Ensure all company secretarial documents are up to date; Corporate governance. Risk management and internal control, Interpretation of complex legislation and regulations, Advising Board Members and CEO on matters of governance, Compliance and best practice; Leading policy formulation in line with legislation, Regulation and national policy; Project management; and Contract Management.

Educational requirements: LLB degree / Bachelor of Law or relevant qualification equivalent to (NQF Level 8); Admitted attorney; and Registration as a Chartered Secretary (CIS).

Experience: Minimum of three years as Company Secretary in a medium to large company. Five years senior management experience. Ten years of related experience.


3. JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY REGULATIONS

DEPARTMENT: OFFICE OF THE COO

LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE

GRADE: D UPPER (R806 184 – R1 513 444)

REF: RD 01

Reports to:  Chief Operating Officer

Purpose: To development frameworks to improve the construction industry regulations and prescripts aligned to cidb mandate and oversee the implementation thereof.

Key Responsibilities:  cidb Registration Framework and Standards; Regulatory Compliance Framework; Enforcement cidb Regulations; Develop Information Management System; Strategic Planning; Risk and Financial Management; People Management.

Educational requirements: Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree/ relevant qualification equivalent to (NQF Level 8).

Experience: 8 to 10 years' experience in drafting of regulations, policies, standards; knowledge in engineering and construction industry will be an added advantage on areas such as arbitration and adjudication.


4. JOB TITLE: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: DESKTOP SUPPORT OFFICER  

DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION COMMUNICATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY

LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE

GRADE:  C3 (R432 344.87 – 648 517.31)

REF: ICT 101

Reports to:  Manager – Network Operations and Support

Purpose: Provide End-user support throughout cidb (hardware, software, peripheral updates and repairs).

Key Responsibilities: Hardware and Software Management, End User Support, Improvement Management, General Administration.

Educational requirements: IT diploma or relevant qualification equivalent to NQF Level 6.

Experience: 2 to 3 years Microsoft experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
