Chief Operations Officer (Grade E3)
To develop and interpret functional operations strategy in order to align to cidb strategic objectives.
Reporting To:
This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
The COO role is a key member of the executive management team, reporting only to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This role will maintain control of diverse business operations, the incumbent will be an experienced and efficient leader. The operations leader must have the ability to take cidb forward, with the following areas of focus:

• Design and implement business operation strategy;
• Development, implementation and maintenance of the regulatory framework for construction industry;
• Implementation and monitoring of compliance services in the construction industry;
• Provide executive leadership in the development and implementation of transformation policies, frameworks and programmes relating to the construction industry;
• Develop and implement best practices, standards and measurements for the construction industry;
• Implementation of advisory services, research and policy development for the construction industry;
• Oversee the facilitation, coordination and monitoring of the development of business conditions in support of infrastructure spend;
• Develop and implement the National Contractor Development Framework in the construction industry;
• Develop and implement support programmes in respect of leadership, technical support, and business administration to contractors;
• Develop capacity in procurement and delivery of infrastructure;
• Collaborate with National Treasury regarding compliance monitoring with the Standard for Infrastructure, Procurement and Delivery Management;
• Assess and review business operations’ performance and make recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness;
• Provide leadership in the effective and efficient running and management of core operations;
• Undertake risk assessment , implement and maintain an effective risk management strategy.
Educational Requirements:
• A post graduate qualification in business or operations at NQF Level 8.
• Relevant Master’s degree will be  an added advantage.
Experience Required:
• 8-10 years’ work experience in the construction industry / built environment-focused organizations;
• At least 5-8 years at Senior Management level; *5 years in an executive position.
Remuneration Package:
(R1,002,178.71 – R1,753,845.17)
