​The cidb is a statutory body established under the executive authority of the Department of Public Works (DPW) and enabled by the Construction Industry Development Board Act 38 of 2000 (cidb Act), from which it derives its mandate. The Construction Industry Development Board (cidb) is an Equal Opportunities Employer. The organisation 's Head Office is in (Groenkloof) Pretoria. Cidb vision has been reviewed to reflect the importance of the cidb as a catalyst for economic growth and job creation in South Africa. The emphasis is to build an industry that is inclusive and reputable where all participants equally can drive the construction industry.

The following five year fixed term contract appointment opportunities are available within cidb:

To sustain and further the commitment of developing and maintaining an operational excellence, capability and to lead the executive team in the implementation of the cidb strategy.
Reporting To:
This position reports to the Chairperson of the cidb Board.
Key Responsibilities:
The new leader must have the ability to take cidb forward, with the following areas of focus: Positioning the cidb as a premier construction industry regulator and developmental entity by commanding recognition within the private and public sector • Unifying the Construction Industry through strategic and decisive leadership • Forging strategic partnerships with private sector endeavours for sustainable growth, improved performance and delivery on key strategic projects • Increasing the critical role of all construction industry stakeholders through contractor development and industry transformation • Overseeing the continuous improvement of both the register of contractors and projects in order to maintain data integrity and credibility • Sustaining and improving the goodwill already existing with Government as a key client and with other stakeholders • Identifying and implementing strategic projects/programs that will enhance the contribution to social and economic development in South Africa • Managing a team of executives while providing the necessary strategic leadership and guidance • Facilitating business and organisational transformation • Developing and implementing human resources policies, programmes and strategies • Promoting conditions for a healthy, learning and high performance organization • Promoting good governance and a high standard of ethics.
Educational Requirements:
A recognized Postgraduate‘s degree relevant to built environment • An MBA/MBL or equivalent Masters qualification is a prerequisite.
Experience Required:
15 years’ work experience in the construction industry / built environment-focused organizations • At least 10 years at Senior Management level • 5 years in an executive position.
Remuneration Package:
: (R1,637,406.24 - R2,865,460.92)
